New Ordinance Requiring Apartment Registration
On November 4, 2009, City Council adopted Ordinance No 2009-1043, establishing Houston's first pro-active Habitability Inspection Program for all multi-family rental properties with three or more residential units. The Ordinance requires that owners register these properties for the program. The initial registration period opens December 1, 2009, and closes January 31, 2010.
